Abstract

The descriptive research has objectives of identifying, describing, and classifying the errors in written English made by the English students of S1 program of FKIP UNILA Lampung. The sample comprises the 1994 S1 students of the English department of FKIP UNILA Lampung, 44 in all. The instrument used to elicit the errors was a free composition test of about 300 words. The test was administered to 44 students who were in the sevent
semester. The focus of the study was on the morphological and syntatical errors caused by interlingual and intralingual interference.
